Frank Spears was born in
Walsall, Staffordshire and came to South Africa in 1928. He had his first one-man exhibition in 1935, with many regularly thereafter.
Spears believed that art must communicate or it is sterile, and that the artist’s function is to relay to the viewer the magic that he perceives in nature. |
