George Enslin
was born in Richmond, England, but came to South Africa in
1920. Studied at the Continental School of Art under van Esshe, the Heatherley School, London and sculpture at the Carrara academy in Italy. His appeal lies in the buoyant colourfulness of his works that is essentially descriptive but enlivened by a bravura reflecting the artist’s personality.
