Johan Oldert
was born in Rotterdam in the Netherlands but resided in South Africa from 1935. He painted in mostly in oils but did a number of portrait busts in bronze, including King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in1947, and, Dr
Verwoerd in 1960. Otherwise painted landscapes, still life, figures and abstract pictures. He held numerous solo exhibitions in South Africa and Rhodesia.
